Foundation Structure How ASAP helps the children of africa
The Africa School Assistance Project is a 501c3 non profit started in 2008 and is dedicated to leveraging the work of rural Africans to build schools for their children while fostering among American volunteers an understanding of life in impoverished Africa.
It is governed by a nine-person board of directors (see Board of Directors page) and employs a half-time Executive Director. In addition, ASAP has an in-country director and staff who manage the projects, employ local labor, disburse funds, procure materials and fend off corruption.
